Instead of starting from scratch, the NFT Worlds team created a blockchain layer on Minecraft. That means the project&#8217;s virtual worlds will look exactly like those found in Minecraft, the best-selling video game of all time with over 100 million monthly players. The ecosystem is inspired by Mojang Studios&#8217; massive open worlds in Minecraft. Thus, although the two companies are not affiliated, the virtual worlds of NFT Worlds use the open-source ecosystem of Minecraft.
