A Brief History of Chiliz

Chiliz is a sports fintech platform that allows global fans to connect with their favorite sports teams and clubs. It runs the blockchain-based sports entertainment platform Socios, which allows users to influence the governance of their favorite sports brands. Socios.com’s multiple fan tokens are an example of this. Fan tokens provide a way for sports clubs and associations to connect with their fans while also unlocking new revenue streams. Chiliz has formed alliances with some of the world’s most prestigious sporting organizations, including FC Barcelona, Manchester City, Juventus Turin, and Paris Saint-Germain. It also has affiliations with the UFC and gaming organizations. Fans who purchase CHZ gain access to various fan tokens and own a stake in their club. Chiliz was founded in 2012 as part of the Mediarex Group, a sports and entertainment organization based in Malta. In 2018, active development on the blockchain-based Socios platform began. Chiliz introduced the CHZ token in October 2018. The token was quickly listed on cryptocurrency exchanges worldwide. The first Chiliz partner was the Juventus soccer club in Turin, Italy. In November 2019, the team held its Fan Token Offering, selling 1.3 million tokens out of a total supply of 20 million by the end of the month. Chiliz launched the Socios app and website in late December 2019. Private Placement invested $66 million in the development. The Socios app is now available on the internet and on millions of mobile devices. Chiliz has offices in France, Turkey, Spain, South Korea, and Brazil, in addition to its headquarters in Malta.

Chiliz is ranked #66 on Coinmarketcap and #83 on coingecko. It can be currently Purchased on Binance, OKX, Bybit, Bitget, and FTX.

What is BRC-20?

BRC-20 is an experimental token standard designed to create semi-fungible tokens on the Bitcoin network using the Ordinals protocol. Initially introduced as a way to overcome Bitcoin’s programmability limitations, BRC-20 tokens enable fungible token creation on the blockchain by inscribing data onto individual Satoshis. This innovation expanded Bitcoin’s utility beyond its core role as a peer-to-peer cash system, allowing for new possibilities in decentralized finance (DeFi) and digital collectibles.
